Sunday Science School is conducted with the help of like-minded Activity Partners at different locations. Activity Partners run SSS programme in their city / locality with our support.
Activity partners should be with science background and should have interest and liking for communicating science and helping children to perform science activities.
SSS activity is scheduled for about 15/20/25 sessions, each of 2 hours, which are to be planned on Sundays or on suitable week day.
SSS will provide initial training to the A.P. in Pune before SSS programme begins in your city. Two more training sessions (or on-line training) will be planned in the month of October and December. In these training sessions, all activities, which students have to perform during SSS programme will be actually tried out by Activity Partners.
Activity Partner Should
- Possess basic understanding of science
- Understand What is a “Hands-on” science activity?
- Know What are science educators / facilitators for?
- Pride of place to the scientific method
They Should Also
- Know the needs of students
- Choose the right words and images
- Launch questions and prompt questioning
- Help students do their own activities independently
Activity Partners and their teachers are the key persons, who will interact with students, encourage them to perform science activities, develop their skills, share science knowledge with participants. They are instrumental in the success of this activity.
