Sunday science school is an encouraging platform for science awareness with simple basic tools. A child is always scared when teacher says in school ‘wait I will show, don’t touch it!’ He indeed thinks expt doing is elders job. But after few sessions in SSS he understands it can be just a smart tool to learn better. And teachers scare them bcoz they can’t provide them.
Enjoyment is a part of life where children prefer than concentrating like a book worm.. n SSS provides such a platform where children learn n can explore their own ideas by interest in the subject.
SSS is taking promotional activity programmes in schools n local public areas where large and large number can participate for learning science. Efforts also taken for making teachers brush up n expose concepts in an effective and interactive way. The best part I like is the team of SSS where we have no boss and staff relation but a healthy atmosphere.

After working in the Industry for 27 years in operations , I had decided that I need to do something different, and something I love.
I was introduced to Mr. Suyash Dake by my friend Mr. Gondhalekar of Protean Knowlwdge solutions from Pune, with whom I was then discussing about starting a training setup at Goa for Engineering students. It was an informal talk and somehow, I had a feeling that this is something that I will definitely love to do. I started spreading the word through my network and got a chance to hold a Half day workshop at a school in Margao I April 2014.
I was very nervous because this was something I had never done . Suyash was very supportive and I requested and also somehow convinced him to come and deliver the program , since I was not trained . He agreed and we did this program at Model Highschool, Margao. That was my first association with SSS. I was the observer . It was my first informal training session as well. This gave me confidence and with encouragement from Suyash, I then did two programs on my own in succession.
Then came the time of training at Pune. This was the time I came in contact with Dinesh. His words at the start of the training were, “ forget your age and be a child , and do the experiments as kids” , and I did exactly that. Since that time the child in me is always eager to come and sit in the training sessions at Pune. .student in me was always open to learning during my 27 years of my engineering career , this is helping me to take the basics of SSS to students.
These training sessions have given me good colleagues from different age groups and different fields . I sometimes feel that being in industry was easier than it is here. But here the pleasure is altogether different. I am learning not only from the trainers at SSS but from students at my SSS classes as well.
It is not as easy as I had thought. You need to prepare thoroughly to deliver to kids. And that keeps me busy. Schooling has begun for me again and I am loving it.
It is worth mentioning that interacting with Suyash, Dinesh, Umesh, Rahul, Ashwini, Neha , Rupesh, Bhalerao , Dr. Rao, Vijay , Dr.Sujata , on phone or whatsapp is always a pleasure.
